Common Denominator

Made from sugar glass used in old

films to make props for breakable

glass, the material of the ambiguous

rectangular sculptures/objects could

hint at windows, melting and

breaking on their own as a

consequence. A sunset on the wall

points again to a window frame but

at the same time to a painterly

motive, especially given the

positioning of the frames around

and the white fabric stretched and

fastened by the stickiness of

the sugar. Bare frame and a frame

where a sort of self-painting

canvas has been

stretched material melting and

painting a sunset paint on its own.

Paintings and windows find a

common denominator.
